Striking Gold Once Again: Honouring Our 3rd Gold Carbon Charter Award Achievement

We did it again! Not only have we achieved Gold Carbon Charter member status for a third consecutive year – but we were also honoured to receive this glowing review in the Carbon Charter Green Newsletter’s “Meet the Member” feature:

"Skyview Systems stands as an exemplar of how businesses should be run, with excellent environmental awareness and continuous progress embedded in the organisation’s culture".

As if the above accolades weren’t enough to celebrate - we were also named Carbon Charter Champion-of-the-Month. This prestigious title recognised our role as “powerful changemakers in the climate movement” and highlighted our accomplishments, which include:

🌱 running our offices on solar energy;
👣 working directly with Groundwork to regularly calculate our carbon footprint, to identify targeted areas for action;
🏆 holding our Carbon Literacy accreditation since 2021, as part of The Carbon Literacy Project;
🗣️ creating a climate-conscious culture, encouraging lift sharing and cycling to work, as well as providing litter-picking equipment for staff to use during lunch breaks; and
💚 actively supporting nature-based charities like the Eden-Rose Coppice Trust,extending our positive impact far beyond the workplace.

Since our beginning in 1989, we have consistently prioritised our green objectives, firstly, by the measures taken within our internal office environment and ecommerce operations; and secondly, through our long-standing services to the industrial and commercial sectors to enable safe and energy-efficient operations.

However, as any carbon-responsible small organisation will no doubt agree, it is one thing to shout about your big wins e.g. installing solar panels, car charging points and all the other actions that will give you carbon-reduction “brownie points”. Demonstrating a consistent, measurable and ongoing reduction in emissions within your business operations year-in, year-out, is where the real work lies.

Digging deep into the data to see where day-to-day improvements can be made in the small but consistent actions is crucial, as is looking to suppliers, clients and our Carbon Charter allies for inspiration.

Being recognised by such a supportive and inspiring network is incredible. As Skyview’s Managing Director reiterates, whilst we are proud to ingrain sustainability at the core of our work practices - we never take this kind of endorsement lightly.

Skyview is immensely proud to have been awarded Gold Carbon Charter in recognition ofits ongoing green ethics for the third consecutive time. Whilst peer recognition is not why we embed sustainability at the core of our work practices; it is important to pause and take stock of this hard-earned achievement. Unfortunately, we cannot stop for long, as environmental progress is truly key to the small business landscape. We remain committed to leading the way in the advancement of green culture.” - Imogen Cunningham, Managing Director, Skyview Systems
