At Skyview Systems, our engineers work across a wide range of environments, from open and exposed sites to confined spaces with remote installations. Ensuring weather monitoring systems operate accurately and reliably is always at the core of Skyview Systems. These projects often take our teams into challenging conditions, and safeguarding their wellbeing is our highest priority.
To strengthen our safety approach, we have recently invested in new multi-gas detection and calibration solutions. These tools form part of our wider strategy to protect our engineers while they install, service, and maintain weather monitoring equipment, ensuring every site is safe and every system is compliant.

Proactive Protection for On-Site Safety
Installing weather monitoring installations can sometimes involve environments where gas hazards are present, such as low oxygen levels or harmful gases like carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide.
Our solution focuses on reliable detection. Before and during any site work, our engineers now use portable, easy-to-operate multi-gas monitors to continuously check air quality. These devices provide real-time readings for:
-
Combustible gases (LEL): 0–100% LEL (0–5.0% v/v)
-
Hydrogen sulphide (H₂S): 0–100 ppm
-
Carbon monoxide (CO): 0–500 ppm
-
Oxygen (O₂): 0–30.0%
This gas monitoring ensures that potential risks are identified early and corrective action can be taken immediately. Our engineers have full visibility of their working environment, allowing them to carry out installations confidently and safely.
Maintaining Accuracy Through Calibration
Accurate readings are critical. To maintain the highest levels of reliability, we have also introduced in-house calibration capabilities.
By calibrating and testing our gas detection instruments regularly, we can ensure they perform precisely as intended, providing dependable data when it matters most. This step not only reinforces our health and safety standards but also improves efficiency, reducing downtime and ensuring that every device used in the field is ready to deliver accurate results.

Strengthening Our Service
Our engineers are the heart of Skyview Systems. The new gas detection and calibration measures are designed to support them directly, giving them confidence in their working environment and the tools they use every day.
With these systems in place, we are not only safeguarding our people but also reinforcing the integrity and reliability of the solutions we deliver to customers. When safety is built into every step of installation, performance naturally follows.
Building a Culture of Continuous Safety
This investment is part of a broader commitment to continuous improvement in safety and compliance. At Skyview Systems, we see safety not as a checklist but as an evolving culture that grows with technology, data, and teamwork.
By pairing smart detection with proactive calibration and clear procedures, we are creating a safer and more efficient way of working that benefits both our staff and our clients.
